After finishing up a unit on human body organization and organ systems interactions, 7th graders at the Jr High participated in a frog dissection lab. Frogs have similar body systems to humans which makes them great for comparative anatomy to understand how cells, tissues, organs and body systems collectively work together. Students were asked to identify different organs and explain their role in an organ system to perform a specific life function. #mayvillecardinals #mayvilleschools #cardinalpride

On Veterans’ Day 2023, 8th graders sent letters and cards to acquaintances/family/district alumni who were in the service, as well as to those currently serving. We were so lucky to receive reply letters from Mayville District alumni currently stationed in the Middle East as well as another active Air Force National Guard members. Additionally, Mr. Jerry Lauby was so touched by the letters/cards from 8th graders that he spoke to them in person about his time in the Army. Students and staff felt fortunate to be able to hear firsthand from our active-duty soldiers and one of our country’s Veterans about their experiences! #mayvillecardinals #mayvilleschools #cardinalpride
8th graders at MHS were honored to listen to Mrs. Arleen Peltz tell the story of her husband, Walter Peltz, who survived the Holocaust. Walter survived five concentration camps and lived to tell his story of survival. Arleen carried on his story after his death in 2003. She made her journey for the 15th year to Mayville. We thank our PTA for helping to make her trip here possible! #mayvillecardinals #mayvilleschools
