2024 FFA State Convention
Members of the Mayville FFA Chapter attended the 95th Annual Wisconsin Association of FFA State Convention June 11-13 at the Alliant Energy Center in Madison to celebrate Wisconsin Agriculture and FFA. Members participated in workshops, attended the WI FFA Convention Expo, explored the top proficiencies, WI Star Degree Finalists, and so much more.
Owen Steger and Morgan Manning represented Mayville FFA as voting delegates to the convention. Students served on committees and participated in business sessions that guide the running of the Wisconsin Association of FFA. Congratulations to Owen and Morgan!
Mr. Jake Cramer was awarded the Wisconsin FFA Honorary State Degree at the Convention on June 12, 2024. The Honorary Degree is the highest degree the Wisconsin Association of FFA can bestow on a non-member. The Honorary Wisconsin FFA State Degree is presented to individuals who have helped advance agricultural education and the FFA and who have rendered outstanding service to Wisconsin Agricultural Education and the Wisconsin Association of FFA.
Mr. Cramer is serving as the 2023-24 Wisconsin FFA Center Board Chair. For 15 years he has been an agriculture instructor, teaching at Beaver Dam, Janesville and currently at Mayville. In 2015 he was named the Wisconsin and the National Association of Agricultural Educators Outstanding Young Teacher. In 2018 Cramer was named the Wisconsin Outstanding Agricultural Education Teacher Ag. Cramer served on the Wisconsin FFA Center Board for eight years, and the Wisconsin Association of Agricultural Educators Board of Directors for four years. In 2004-05 he served as the Wisconsin FFA State Sentinel from the Johnson Creek FFA Chapter.
Mr. Cramer and the other 12 recipients of the 2024 Wisconsin FFA Honorary State Degree were presented with plaques during a special program to thank them for their dedication to agriculture education. Congratulations, Mr. Cramer!
FFA member Mya Langhoff joined over 70 other young musicians from around Wisconsin at the convention in having been selected as members of the Wisconsin Association of FFA Honors Choir and performed at the 95th Wisconsin FFA State Convention. Don't miss them at the Wisconsin State Fair performing with the State Honors Band on August 8-11. Congratulations, Mya!
Finally, recent Mayville Graduates Evan Feucht and Adeline Youngbeck received their Wisconsin FFA State Degrees on June 12th. This is the highest honor and recognition awarded by the Wisconsin FFA. These accomplished young adults join a distinguished group of 168 former Mayville FFA Members who have earned the Wisconsin FFA State Degree since Mayville's first in 1945. Congratulations to both Adeline and Evan!
